YOUR

HOST

Dhivya is the newly appointed CEO of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women

https://cherieblairfoundation.org/news-list/dhivya-oconnor-joins-as-ceo/

Dhivya has 24 years' experience as a senior leader across the charity and private sectors. Most recently serving as Interim CEO of The Girls' Network, she has previously fulfilled the CEO position at United World Schools, Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Children with Cancer UK.

Growing up in India, Dhivya witnessed stark inequalities, particularly for women and girls, which has deeply influenced her commitment to championing equality and addressing social injustice.

Dhivya serves as a Board Member of Book Aid International, an organisation which shares the power of books to help create a more equal world; is on the Steering Committee of Groundbreakers, a network promoting women leaders in the voluntary sector; and was Governor of a state primary school. She has also volunteered with NGOs in India, South Africa and Cambodia.

Prior to joining the non-profit world, she held various strategy, business development and leadership roles in the for-profit sector, driving innovation and growth, at GE Capital, Lloyds Bank and OctopusTravel (now part of Expedia Group).

A vocal advocate for the work of charities, Dhivya created and launched The Charity CEO Podcast in August 2020, whilst on Maternity break with her second child.
